MIAMI, Florida (February 15, 2012)—In the context of appeals being heard in the National Court of Justice in Ecuador against the sentencing to three years in prison and payment of damages amounting to $40 million of César, Nicolás and Carlos Pérez, executives of the newspaper El Universo, and the paper’s former columnist Emilio Palacio, the Inter American Press Association (IAPA) today announced it is holding a press conference today at its headquarters in Miami (1801 SW 3rd Avenue, 7th floor, Miami, FL 33129) at 5:00 p.m.
