HONDURAS
WHEREAS
the City of San Pedro Sula has established a policy that the heads of the various municipal divisions, directors or heads of city departments are required to provide only information that the city councilmen may need, and that only by written request, with a copy to the mayor and that information will be provided to no one other than a city councilman, unless authorized by the mayor the foregoing city policy amounts to a violation of the freedom of information guarantee contained in the Constitution of the Republic of Honduras, and of treaties and international conventions subscribed to by that country, and also of the principles that form the foundation of the Inter American Press Association
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE IAPA RESOLVES
to express to the City of San Pedro Sula, Department of Cortes, Republic of Honduras, and to the President of that Republic, IAPA's concern over this assault against the freedom of information.
