He studied at the University of Missouri Journalism School and returned to Guatemala to join the staff of El Imparcial as reporter and later editor of the economic page. Later he was director of the technical department of the School of Communications at San Carlos University. He also directs the weekly TV program “Teleforo Universitario.” He says his year at Missouri “was fundamental in my preparation, first as an active journalist, and now as a professor of journalism”.
