MIAMI, Florida (December 22, 2014)—The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) today called for entries from journalists working with newspapers belonging to the organization throughout the Americas for its IAPA-Knight-Wallace Fellows (KWF) Chapultepec Scholarship that will enable a member of the press to have one semester of academic studies at the University of Michigan.
The scholarship, worth $60,000, covers accommodations, living expenses and university enrollment. This Chapultepec Scholarship is not part of the permanent IAPA Scholarship Fund.
The funds provided by Knight-Wallace Fellows are a generous support for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Declaration of Chapultepec, a commitment adopted by almost all the heads of state of the countries of the Americas which contains 10 principles forming the basis of freedom of expression and of the press.
