Miami (April 9, 2012)—The upcoming Inter American Press Association (IAPA) Midyear Meeting, to be held on April 20-23 in Cádiz, Spain, will offer an attractive program of seminars focusing on new available opportunities for newspaper companies to increase their profitability and on how to take advantage of them.
Optimization of workflows in newspapers, how to make money from new digital products, and the use of social media are some of the seminars’ main topics, to be conducted mostly by European international experts.
In addition to addressing the challenge for newspapers in optimizing workflows in the newsroom, seminars will take an in-depth look at the competitive advantages of digital ventures, such as those exemplified by Spanish newspapers’ news kiosks and the payment for subscription to apps for tablets and mobile phones.
Other experts will discuss the social media phenomenon and the news and advertising opportunities presented by mass Websites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google+, among others.
During the IAPA’s traditional mid-year meeting, to be held in Cádiz in honor of the bicentennial of the Spanish Constitution, participants will review the state of press freedom in the Americas. In addition to the training seminars, the meeting will include professional panel discussions on international politics and the state of the international economy.
Also, the company Cliclogix Américas will announce the results of a survey among IAPA member newspapers on the use and penetration of online advertising and marketing.
