Of British origin, he was editor of the Buenos Aires Herald, where he settled. Vehemente critical of the Argentine military dictatorship. When he received threats and warnings, he decided to moved with his family moved to South Carolina, becoming editor of The Post and Courier. In 2005 te legislature of Buenos Aires granted him recognition for his courage before the dictatorship. He received several journalistic awards.
