Report to the IAPA 77 General Assembly Virtual
October 19-22, 2021

During this period, the practice of journalism went on without major setbacks.

During this semester, the Covid-19 pandemic was one of the main concerns for the country's news organizations - due to the impact it has had on the industry and on advertising.

At the beginning of the year, the Government began to publish a report on its budget executions in national newspapers - a measure that helped to alleviate the economic situation of the dailies. The report would be published once a month throughout the year, according to the government authorities, who took office in August, 2020. As a result of this, the newspapers budgeted revenues counting on the continuity of the measure during 2021. However - and without any official explanation - the Government stopped publishing the reports halfway through the year.
