The Research Institute of Journalism SIP: a forum for information, training and integration of American investigative reporters The Research Institute of Journalism is committed to becoming the prime forum for investigative reporters in the region. For this, and considering that the general topics seminars on investigative journalism and paid off, provide assistance on projects or specific topics, for example through the visit of journalists or experts to the newsroom of the newspapers that require . The scenarios in this work front are:
  • regional newspapers are interested in becoming a research unit.
  • Research teams who need advice in organizing, writing and editing of research.
  • investigative reporters who want to deepen technical issues that are often related to the themes of his works, such as databases on the Internet, statistics and data organization programs, financial affairs, electoral fraud, laundering money and drugs, telecommunications, ecology, Human Rights, and international law. Exchange
  • reporters to share experiences in investigative journalism. Experts are not necessarily journalists. The topics will invite professionals specialized in these fields. The Institute also aims to integrate investigative reporters, who often do not have information on work performed or colleagues about their areas of expertise. A priority of the Institute is to create a directory of investigative journalists in the region with their biographies, areas of expertise and published works (articles, books, etc..). Furthermore, it will provide links to newspaper articles that a reporter wants to share. Finally, the Institute's website will provide information on their seminars and workshops, as well as those of other organizations dedicated to investigative journalism. Papers also disclose investigative journalists.
