Congressional Subcommittee Hearing: Threats to press freedom in the Americas

The Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere of the House of Representatives of the US Congress held on July 29, 2015 a special hearing in which the IAPA and other press organizations testified about the greatest violations of press freedom in the Americas. The IAPA delegation that traveled to Washington, DC, was composed by Claudio Paolillo, chairman of the Committee on Freedom of the Press and Information and the executive director of the institution, Ricardo Trotti. Carlos Ponce, Freedom House; Carlos Lauría, CPJ; Nicolás Pérez Lapentti, El Universo, Ecuador, and Alfredo Corchado, The Dallas Morning News, also presented their testimonies.
