Miami (August 20, 2023) Media companies from the United States, Latin America and Spain are registering for the 79th General Assembly of the Inter American Press Association (IAPA), from November 9 to 12 in Mexico City, where Grupo Salinas, a leader in digital innovation with more than 50 million unique visitors to its platforms, will be among the hosts of the event.

The Host Committee is chaired by Luciano Pascoe, CEO of ADN40 and General Director of Editorial Strategy of Grupo Salinas. It is made up of IAPA's main Mexican partners, including the digital native media La Silla Rota, led by Roberto Rock, IAPA's first vice-president.

In addition to a review of the state of press freedom in 25 countries of the continent, the program of the 79th IAPA Assembly includes presentations and panels of North American and Spanish media, as well as new initiatives for the sustainability of news companies.

The registration form can be downloaded here. Participants can make reservations here for preferential rates at the Hilton Reforma, the venue for the event.

The program will include workshops, visits and social events at emblematic sites in the Mexican capital. On November 8, prior to the start of the official program, an optional seminar will be held free of charge for those registered at the Universidad de la Libertad.

IAPA will celebrate several historic milestones in November. First of all, the 30th anniversary of the Declaration of Chapultepec and the fifth anniversary of the Declaration of Salta. It will also recall its origins dating back to 1923 when the mandate to create a hemispheric media meeting arose during the Fifth American Conference in Santiago de Chile.

IAPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the defense and promotion of freedom of the press and freedom of expression in the Americas. It is comprised of more than 1,300 publications in the Western Hemisphere and is headquartered in Miami, Florida, United States.
