APPRECIATION Resolution of the Midyear Meeting Caracas, Venezuela March 28 - 30, 2008 WHEREAS our Host Committee, chaired by David Natera, fostered an atmosphere of cordiality consistent with the spirit of support that lies at the heart of this gathering WHEREAS The Midyear Meeting received generous support from various organizations that sponsored hospitality events, such as Globovisión, Notitarde, El Nacional, El Universal, DailyMe, Inc., and other members of the Venezuelan Press Bloc WHEREAS Leopoldo Lopez, the mayor of the municipality of Chacao, provided support and security for this gathering and delivered a message of friendship and recognition of the values defended by the IAPA WHEREAS Clara Elvira Ospina, Alberto Federico Ravell, Raimundo Riva Palacios, Jorge Piñón and Ramón Espinasa participated in interesting roundtable discussions on the vision and role of journalism and on energy security in the Western hemisphere THE MIDYEAR MEETING OF THE IAPA RESOLVES to express, on behalf of the president, officers, directors and members of the IAPA, its deepest gratitude and appreciation to the people and enterprises that supported and contributed to the success of this Midyear Meeting.
