the approval by the legislature of the City of Buenos Aires of a law that bans the publication of exit polls until three hours after the closing of the voting booths
WHEREAS
these bills restricting the peoples right to information does not strength democracy
WHEREAS
such a restriction constitutes an obstacle to the free flow of news and violates Principle 5 of the Declaration of Chapultepec, which was endorsed by the president of the republic in 1994
THE IAPA BOARD OF DIRECTORS RESOLVES
To ask the legislature of the City of Buenos Aires to shelve the referenced bill.
