the notable expansion of online newspapers poses a need to define their status in relation to IAPA bylaws
WHEREAS
the new virtual dailies broad possibilities make them more vulnerable to those who intend to regulate the media and thus limit freedom of expression
THE IAPA EXECUTIVE BOARD RESOLVES
to request the Executive Committee execute the necessary studies and action to incorporate or not, online newspapers into our Association
to survey and consult IAPA member newspapers with online dailies to then establish the membership conditions for non-member online papers
to declare that the IAPA views with serious concern any plan or action by public or private entities to limit freedom of expression in online newspapers.
