PARAGUAY
WHEREAS
in Paraguay legal actions against newspapers and journalists who are critical of the government have increased, including the arrests of journalists and editors in degrading conditions acts of violence have been committed against the media and their executives
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE IAPA RESOLVES
to strongly condemn and repudiate these actions which curtail press freedom to ask President Gonzalez Macchi to keep his promise to the IAPA to protect journalism from violence and arbitrary actions.
