BOLIVIA WHEREAS the IAPA views with concern the fact that the case of the newspaper ramada has not been solved agents from the Interior Ministry carried out a raid in 1973 in which ramada's equipment was destroyed, the newspaper has sued for damages and losses, and there is evidence of a report that the Presidency, the Finance Ministry and former minister and currently deputy presidential minister for parliamentary coordination, Guillermo Fortun Suarez, have acknowledged ramada's lawsuit is justified on July 2, 1990, the IAPA wrote then Bolivian President Jaime Paz Zamora, calling upon him to solve the case of the raid on Jomada, which amounts to an attack on freedom of expression IAPA member Jomada presented legal documents at the IAPA's 54th General Assembly which proves the above THE IAPA GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESOLVES to reiterate its concern over this attack on freedom of expression in Bolivia to call on President Hugo Banzer Suarez to issue the executive order sought by Jomada.
