the Supreme Court of Honduras allowed for prosecution of municipal officials who had denied government information to the public the Supreme Court of the United States unanimously struck down efforts by Congress and the president to impose more controls on electronic publication than upon print media
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE IAPA RESOLVES
to greet with profound satisfaction the judicial decisions in Costa Rica, Honduras, and the United States to uphold freedom of information and expression against government intrusion
to regard these decisions as demonstrations that the judiciary must be the last guardian of human rights, including the freedom of expression to hold up these judicial decisions on behalf of freedom of expression as inspiration to defenders of
democracy throughout the hemisphere.
