AI in journalism and local news are central themes at SIPConnect 2023

Miami (July 18, 2023) - Latin American and U.S. media will share valuable experiences around Artificial Intelligence, new audiences, new content, and audiovisual technology during the continental digital journalism conference SIPConnect 2023 that will begin this Wednesday in Miami.

The sessions that bring together editors and media managers from 20 countries will begin tomorrow with presentations by leaders of the journalism industry, such as Daniel Hadad, founder and CEO of Infobae, Claudio Cabrera, Audience Manager of The Athletic / The New York Times and Guy Tasaka, media technology specialist at Editor & Publisher.

Google's Latin American media relations manager, Rodrigo Bonilla, will share findings and guidance from the Journalism A.I. study conducted with the London School of Economics. Three media technology producers will offer insights and tips on using and benefiting newsrooms with Generative Artificial Intelligence.

Combating news deserts through the empowerment of local news will be a relevant topic to be presented by Hearst Newspapers of Connecticut and the Local Media Association of the USA.

SIPConnect 2023 will conclude on Friday with a visit to the Telemundo / Universal studios in Miami, one of the most modern audiovisual information production centers among Spanish-language media in the United States.
