Miami (April 29, 2024)- The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) reminds that there is only one month left for the deadline to receive applications for the Excellence in Journalism 2024 contest, aimed at media and communication professionals from North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain.
Only journalistic pieces actually published during the period between June 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024 in a daily newspaper, weekly, magazine or online publication will be considered as contestants. The closing date for submitting entries is May 31, 2024.
A jury composed of members of the IAPA Awards Committee will select the winner in each category. The first prize in each category is US$2,000 (two thousand U.S. dollars). The awards ceremony will be held during the 80th General Assembly in Córdoba, Argentina, in October 2024.
It is not necessary to be a member of IAPA to participate.
IAPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the defense and promotion of freedom of the press and freedom of expression in the Americas. It is comprised of more than 1,300 publications in the Western Hemisphere and is headquartered in Miami, United States.
