The IAPA kicks off registration for its face-to-face 77th General Assembly in Spain

Miami (July 15, 2021).- The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) announces that registration is now open for its 77th General Assembly to be held in Madrid from October 28 to 31.

This General Assembly marks the return to IAPA´s face-to-face activities and IAPA´s continued fight in defense and promotion of press freedom after more than a year of virtual events due to the pandemic.

Important personalities of Spain, both from journalism world and the information industry as well as from political life, literature and the arts, will be part of 77th General Assembly program. One of the General Assembly's objectives will be to discuss and debate life in a post-pandemic era.

"Although we have a long road to recovery ahead of us, particularly in Latin American countries, we are pleased to return to face-to-face meetings as they are our strength, part of our culture and are necessary to continue working efficiently for freedom of the press and the future of our industry," said IAPA President Jorge Canahuati Larach.

IAPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the defense and promotion of freedom of the press and of expression in the Americas. It is made up of more than 1,300 publications from the western hemisphere; and is based in Miami, Florida, United States.
