Miami (June 12, 2026) – Artificial intelligence, evolving audience behaviors, and the search for sustainable journalism business models will shape the agenda of SIPConnect 2026, the Inter American Press Association’s (IAPA) conference on innovation and digital transformation, to be held July 28–30 in Miami.
The event will bring together leading media executives, editors, product specialists, technology experts, and industry strategists to examine emerging trends, share experiences, and explore solutions to the challenges facing the news industry.
Over three days, participants will explore how artificial intelligence is transforming editorial and commercial operations, how audience expectations continue to evolve, and which growth strategies are proving most effective in an increasingly competitive environment.
Confirmed speakers include Infobae Founder and CEO Daniel Hadad; AI and digital innovation specialist Claudia Báez; Adriana Lacy, founder of Adriana Lacy Consulting; Story Baker founder Mauricio Cabrera; Waypoint founder Matt Sanders; Reuters Institute researcher Amy Ross Arguedas; Vanina Berghella of the International Fund for Public Interest Media; Axios Local Director Delano Massey; Christina Kurteva of Thomson Reuters; Juan Pablo Robert of YouTube Latin America; and Janine Werner, co-founder and Executive Director of SembraMedia.
The conference will also feature leading voices in audiovisual and digital journalism, including Leopoldo Gómez of TelevisaUnivision News, Rodolfo González of Teletica’s Telenoticias, Juan Simo of La Nación, Santiago Gómez of Clarín, and Richard Revelo Cadena of El Tiempo.
Discussions will focus on some of the most pressing questions facing media organizations today: how to move from AI experimentation to meaningful newsroom transformation, how to strengthen audience trust, how to build more valuable products, how to diversify revenue streams, and how to adapt to rapidly changing consumption habits.
The program includes keynote presentations, strategic panels, special sessions, practical workshops and rapid-fire talks designed to provide actionable insights and real-world solutions.
The conference will open on July 28 with the Google News Initiative AI Video Lab, the first in-person gathering of a program jointly developed by IAPA and Google to strengthen video production, distribution and monetization capabilities across Latin American media organizations.
A dedicated training workshop on Wednesday afternoon will provide hands-on guidance on emerging tools, practical applications and innovative workflows for modern newsrooms.
The program is now available and registration is open.
