GUATEMALA The Congress passed a bill, introduced by Deputy Alfonso Cabrera, the Christian Democrat Party presidential candidate, exempting the media from payment of import taxes on supplies and equipment. Another bill passed by the Congress will create a fund for journalists in general. It had been proposed by the Guatemalan Journalists Association in 1989.
