Guatemala create the appropriate environment in which to investigate this type of criminality that has managed to create a power parallel to legalí'y established institutions, undermining freedom and the democratic process
THE 50TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE lAPA RESOLVES
to condemn the violence and the criminal acts affecting the free practice of journalism in Guatemala to ask the Government of the Republic and the Courts to immediately and effectively investigate the events denounced by the Guatemalan delegation to this Assembly and to begin trials to punish the material and intellectual authors of these crimes to express solidarity with Guatemalan journalists, the victims of these persecutions.
