Miami (June 12, 2023)- The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) has informed media professionals in North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain that there are only 19 days left until the deadline for its Excellence in Journalism 2023 contest.
Only those journalistic pieces actually published between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023 in print media, whether newspapers, weeklies or magazines, native digital media and online publications of radio and television stations will be considered as contestants. Nominations must be received before July 1, 2023.
Regarding the College Journalism category, the Awards Committee established new rules. The Jury will only consider individual works, in the genre of reportage and free subject matter, which have been published in university media.
A jury made up of members of the IAPA Awards Committee will choose the winner in each of the categories. The first prize in each category is US$2,000 (two thousand U.S. dollars). The awards ceremony will be held in Mexico City in November 2023, during the 79th IAPA General Assembly.
As it does every year, IAPA will award the Grand Prize for Press Freedom to an individual or organization with significant achievements in favor of this cause.
IAPA thanks CNN en Español for its general sponsorship of this contest.
