Miami (June 30, 2023) - The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) has informed media professionals in North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain that only 12 hours left until its Excellence in Journalism 2023 contest deadline.

Only journalistic pieces published between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023, will be considered that have been published in print media, whether newspapers, weeklies, magazines, native digital media, or online radio and television stations. Nominations must be received by July 1, 2023.

A jury of members of the IAPA Awards Committee will choose the winner in each category. The first prize in each category is US$2,000 (two thousand U.S. dollars). The awards ceremony will be held in Mexico City in November 2023 during the 79th IAPA General Assembly.

As it does every year, IAPA will award the Grand Prize for Press Freedom to an individual or organization with significant achievements in favor of this cause.

IAPA thanks CNN en Español for its general sponsorship of this contest.
