Miami (June 27, 2023)- The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) reminds media professionals in North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain that there are only four days left until its Excellence in Journalism 2023 contest deadline.
Only journalistic pieces published between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023, will be considered contestants. Nominations must be received before July 1, 2023.
A jury of members of the Awards Committee will choose the winner in each of the 14 categories. The first prize in each category is US$2,000 (two thousand U.S. dollars).
IAPA also will grant awards to media outlets, executives, and institutions in four new categories in the framework of sustainable journalism. The new categories are Transformational Sustainability, Digital Transformation, Executive of the Year, and Great Friend of the Press.
The awards ceremony will be held in Mexico City in November 2023 during the 79th IAPA General Assembly.
As it does every year, IAPA will award the Grand Prize for Press Freedom to an individual or organization with significant achievements in favor of this cause.
IAPA thanks CNN en Español for the general sponsorship of its annual contest for journalistic excellence.
